Informa Exhibitions Ltd regrets to announce the closure of Solids & Bulk Handling magazine.

Solids & Bulk Handling magazine has been affected by the ongoing downward trend of on-the-page marketing spend. This combined with the economic pressures that the loose and solids handling industry face has ultimately led to the sad and difficult decision to cease publishing the magazine.

The November/December 2017 issue of Solids & Bulk Handling will be its last edition.

Short course: Pneumatic Conveying of bulk solids April 12, 2011

The presenters, Prof Mike Bradley and Richard Farnish, have considerable experience of different pneumatic conveying systems and the types of problems that can arise as a result of mismatching materials, feeders, pipe designs, or air movers to one another. They have pooled their vast knowledge and experience in dealing with these problems to deliver a 2 day course which will cover operational and design issues associated with such systems.

The following topics will be covered:
- Components of pneumatic conveying systems;
- Design Techniques;
- Operational problems and effects on system design
- Operation and control of blow tanks, including the transport of powders
- Interfacing storage bins to conveying systems
- Explosion hazards, including ATEX directives
- All aspects of system selection and operation

There will also be an opportunity to tour our pilot plant which holds an industrial-scale pneumatic conveyor rig, (possibly the  largest and most comprehensive facility of its type in Europe), which is used for commercial consulting and research.

The cost of the course is £680 per delegate. This includes course notes, refreshments and a course meal on the first evening. Discounts are available for multiple bookings - see website for details.

The course is aimed at Engineers, Managers, Skilled operatives and maintenance crew or anyone involved in using bulk solid materials such as equipment manufacturers. A basic technical education and/or experience in industry is recommended. It is aimed to be suitable for newcomers to the industry as well as updating current practitioners.

On-line booking forms are available on our website http://www.bulksolids.com. Numbers for the courses are limited to allow delegates the time to discuss their own operational needs and problems.

The course will be repeated on 22 – 23 November 2011. Alternatively, we can present this course at your place of work. Contact us at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) for further information.
