  • PowerCore® dust collectors for use in potentially explosive atmospheres

PowerCore® dust collectors for use in potentially explosive atmospheres   —   August 13, 2015

The growing proportion of lightweight materials in the manufacturing processes results in higher particulate fractions that must be filtered by extraction and dust removal systems to improve workers' health and safety in the workplace. This places high demands on the engineering and materials use of the dust removal systems and affects particularly the explosion protection in processing of light metals and fibre composites. Using the exceptionally compact PowerCore® dust collectors, reducing the particulate emissions has been successful and at the same time, gas volume of the dust collectors critical for the explosion protection was reduced.

  • In-silo blending improves plastic mouldings

    In-silo blending improves plastic mouldings   —   August 06, 2015

In this report for Solids and Bulk Handling, Mark Barton (Managing Director) from Barton Fabrications reports on the impact on silo storage of the increasing pressure for plastic moulders to use more recycled feedstock. The challenge faced by the industry is to retain the quality, properties and consistency of the components they are moulding, whilst using lower percentages of virgin raw material and without significantly increasing costs. Mark describes how silo manufacturers have contributed to this challenge with the development of improved in-silo blending designs to enhance recycled feedstock homogeneity.
